About the Founder & Vision

Kyem Ghosh — Founder,
Sinfonia Foundation

Kyem Ghosh is a music educator, pianist, and social entrepreneur based in Kolkata, dedicated to making quality music education accessible to every child — regardless of socio-economic background.

Raised in Farakka, West Bengal, Kyem grew up in a family with no formal musical background. His journey began under the guidance of his first guru, Mr. Indrajit Chowdhury, whose encouragement sparked a lifelong passion for music.

After relocating to Hasnabad in 2010, Kyem trained at the Calcutta School of Music under Mr. Kaushik Das — one of Kolkata's most respected concert pianists and educators. He later completed a M.Phil degree in Music from Rabindra Bharati University. Over the years, he has taught students across all age groups through schools, private lessons, and community initiatives, witnessing firsthand how music transforms confidence, discipline, and creativity.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kyem successfully transitioned to online teaching, reaching students far beyond geographical limits — an experience that deepened his conviction that access to music education should never be constrained by financial circumstance or location.

Driven by this vision, he founded Sinfonia Foundation — a non-profit initiative committed to bringing structured, meaningful music education to children who may otherwise never have the opportunity to learn an instrument. Through partnerships with schools, communities, volunteers, and supporters, the Foundation creates opportunities for children to experience the joy, discipline, and lifelong benefits of music.
