Our Story
Built from belief
Sinfonia Foundation was born from a simple truth — music should not be a privilege. Across India, countless children from underprivileged communities never get the chance to learn an instrument. Not because they lack talent or passion. But because they lack access, resources, and someone who believes in them.
We are a young school, established in Kolkata in 2023 — but our intent was clear from day one. Sinfonia runs on a self-sustaining model: the fees paid by our enrolled students — including working professionals, school children, NRI students, and learners joining us from abroad — directly fund free music education for children in government schools and underserved communities across the city.
Music is not just an art — it is a globally valued skill. A well-trained musician can grow into a performer, educator, studio artist, or orchestral professional. The international demand for skilled musicians is real, and we believe that with the right foundation and consistent training from an early age, children from any background can access that world. We are not there yet — but we are building toward it, one lesson at a time.
This is only the beginning. Every student who joins Sinfonia — whether from Kolkata, across India, or from overseas — is part of something larger than a music class.

Coming from a modest background and pursuing music with determination, our founder experienced firsthand the challenges of access, resources, and opportunity.
With formal training and years of teaching experience, that personal journey became a vision — ensuring no child is denied music because of their circumstances.
